Our podcast guest today is Brenna Brockert, Pilates Instructor, Dancer, and Owner of her own small business, “Pilates to Pirouettes”. Brenna started dancing at 3 years old and despite numerous obstacles and a few rejections, made her way onto the dance team at the University of Arizona, one of the top dance programs in the country. However, during her tenure there, she suffered a serious spinal injury, and it wasn’t until she found Pilates that she was able to start making a full recovery back to dance. Now teaching Pilates primarily to young dancers, Brenna is working with the younger demographic to be more body aware and injury resistant, hoping to help others avoid what she went through during college.
Drop a listen if you are curious about:
1) The journey of a dancer (she professionally danced for the Phoenix Suns as well!) who due to an injury, had to change her perspective on moving forward.
2) How Pilates helped to save her dancing career.
3) How Brenna continues to dance, teach, and run her own business!
